OpenOffice 3 Is On The Road To Launch

Microsoft Office competitor OpenOffice is on continuous development. Now with new features and interface OpenOffice.org is going to launch its version3, and it’s ready to download public beta of OpenOffice.org 3.0.

The most immediately visible change to OpenOffice 3.0 is the new Start Centre, new fresh-looking icons, and a new zoom control in the status bar. This version will support upcoming OpenDocument Format (ODF) 1.2 standard and also Ms-Office 2008 for Mac OS X file format .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc. And another good news for Mac OS X user is that, this version will run without X11 and easily integrates with Mac OS X accessibility APIs. So lets check out at a glace what OpenOffice 3.0 is going to offer.
